National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2017
#WORKWELL17
Work and wellness can go hand in hand. On National Workplace Wellbeing Day, we’d like to share some of our own resources to encourage positive mental and physical health in the workplace.
1. Stress Management
Work can be stressful, but there are ways to manage this stress, and thus reduce it, in a healthy way. Click here for tips suggested by our medical director Dr. Mooney.
2. Mindfulness
Practicing mindfulness is one such way to reduce stress, as well as improve your mood and general feelings of mental and emotional wellbeing.
3. Deskercise
Sitting all day itself can be tiring and, according to research, increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Physical activity helps not only your body but also keeps your mind alert. If you’re at work, finding reasons to stand, stretch, or even do a quick exercise can go a long way toward improving your health. Try these deskercise moves at work by yourself or with a colleague to shake things up.
4. Community
Foster a community of wellness in your workplace. Invite colleagues to try a Couch to 5K with you - this way you’ll have company in your efforts to get fit and something health-related to chat about at work!
